I'd like to see an Apprentice with a long term business from each of the teams across the series so they can build up to pitching to Harrod's or whatever by week 8. Start them off making a profit with tut on week 1 and then they have to use that profit to buy cake mix or whatever.

Look, I don't know. But getting them to run a two-day business is ludicrous. Get them to network and use connections in later shows. It'll be hilarious when the manager from Ealing won't work with them cause the girls screamed at his sales assistant 3 weeks previously.

I would also suggest getting rid of the two-stage board room process.

Sugar keeps bollocking PMs for bringing the wrong people back. Sometimes, there is someone who should obviously get fired, so the PM brings them back along with someone else and Sugar gives the PM a bollocking for bringing back the blameless second person, even though the rules of the game are that two people need to be brought back.

If this is such a problem Sugar should just fire whoever he wants.

If the prize is an investment from Sugar they ought to start in Week 1 with presentations about the business ideas proposed by each contestant. The tasks should follow after that to provide the contestants with the opportunity to demonstrate that they have the business skills to enable them to implement their proposal. Realistically I suspect that's what Sugar is really doing anyway. Hence in the last series the bizarre dismissal of someone for being an engineer because engineers never have any decent ideas about business in Sugar's experience (his career in IT having made him oblivious to facebook, Microsoft, Google, Apple etc). Then he goes and makes Tom, an engineer, the winner, despite him having been roundly ignored or sidelined by all the shiny suits throughout each of the tasks.

And another thing, if it really is about bladdy business, why does Sugar only mark them on gross profit each week? This means that if Romulus spends £1000 and takes in £1500 but Remus spends £200 and takes in £699, Romulus wins even though Remus in real life would be a far better business with a much greater return on capital employed.

Worse still, the poor mug in Remus who has pared costs to the bone and kept a tight watch on the real profitability of the team will probably end up getting fired for not going out and selling enough.
