Interminable 1990s sit-com Birds of a Feather is back! Featuring two lovable(?) sisters and their cock-hound pensioner neighbour, the show was cancelled in 1998 after 102 episodes and approximately three jokes.
If you missed the show in the last 14 years, you did have one option. According to Wikipedia, “there were some VHS releases of episodes from the series”, which is probably no comfort to anybody. (Although if you buy us the complete series, we promise to watch every single episode.) Now though, the girls are back! But don’t worry, your license fee isn’t going to waste on tedious Theodopolopodos jokes. In fact, Pauline Quirke reassures us that ‘The BBC have never approached us’.
Instead, they’re on stage! Touring the country! Avoiding big venues in favour of slightly cosier ones just up the road!
But we’re not just here to lament the existence of yet another weak Marks and Gran sit-com. See, the first few photos of the show are in, and the cast look basically as you’d expect: slightly older than the last time they were on telly.

The acting is exactly how you remember
Which brings us to the Daily Mail’s report on the gig. Actually, we’ll skim over it, as it’s just a load of pictures of the girls on stage with some fluff around it. What we really want to talk about is the reader comments. Will they fondly remember the episode where the girls opened a cleaning firm? Reminisce over the mad old neighbour’s desperate hunt for cock? Chuckle repeatedly at the Greek guy’s surname? No, of course not.
I know Pauline Quirke has done really well, but she looks so old now and that’s a shame as she always looked to fresh and happy. The next thing could be a face lift, that’s what I would do if I was lucky enough to be able to afford it.

Oh.
Pauline looks drawn n tired dont think that much weight loss has done her that much good!

Um.
Pauline Quirke needs a new hairstyle, losing the weight in her face has made her look years older
- margaret wood, mirfield UK, 27/3/2012 9:05
Er.
pauline hasn’t aged well
- maggie2shoes, london uk, 27/3/2012 4:22
Right.
I know Pauline has lost a lot of weight and fair play to her but her faced is very old and tired looking. Why didn’t they put some make up on her??? I would love to see the show thou.
- missnosey, everywhere, 27/3/2012 7:43
Ah.
Whatever has happened to Pauline Quirke? She’s suddenly gone from looking stunning to really rather old and unwell.
- Caroline, Suffolk, 27/3/2012 7:55
Ack.
All of those comments are on the “best rated” page. Well done folk, you’ve done yourselves proud.

Thou
THOU
T H O U
what a fucking shambles.
Firstly, I think the generally “accepted” abbreviation of though is “tho”. However, this is negated by the fact that on a daily mail comment board no abbreviation is neccessary as there is no word count, and thus your stream of bile consciousness pointing out that, shock of shocks, a woman who is in her 50s looks like a woman in her 50s can continue relentlessly until the latest “immigant” story is posted and you can move onto picking on them, or maybe Kim Kardashian, you who’ll ridicule and insult for being an attention seeker when the story is hosted by the Daily Mail containing images of Kardashian shot through a long-distance lens.
could it be that she is actually playing the character as she always did..with no make up,plain clothes and non descript hair style? or do these fuckwits imagine she’s actually going to play herself as she appears on the cover of numerous magazines ? jeezus !
